Open Hands, Holy Hearts - Acts 4 & 5

Jun 28, 2026    Pastor Sean McSwain

In Acts 4:32–5:16, we see two very different pictures of generosity.

Barnabas models a heart that is free, willing, and open-handed. Ananias and Sapphira reveal the danger of wanting the appearance of surrender without the reality of surrender.

In “Open Hands, Holy Hearts,” we discover that the Gospel creates a unified church that notices needs and moves toward them. But God is after more than generous hands, He is after honest, holy hearts.

A Spirit-filled church cares for its own, blesses its community, and uses everything God has entrusted to it for His glory. The question is not only, “Are you giving?” The deeper question is, “What kind of heart is doing the giving?”
