When the Gospel Hits the Streets
In Acts 8:1–25, persecution breaks out against the church after the death of Stephen. Saul ravages the church, believers are scattered, and it looks like the Gospel movement is under attack. But what Satan means for silencing, God uses for sending.
This week we see that scattered saints become Gospel witnesses, Philip preaches Christ in Samaria, strongholds are broken, and great joy comes to the city. But we also meet Simon the Magician, whose story warns us that not everyone who gets close to the movement has truly surrendered to Jesus.
The Gospel is not a tool for personal power, platform, or control. It is the announcement of King Jesus that demands real repentance and real faith.
So the question is simple: do we want Jesus, or do we only want what Jesus can get us?
